Lily-Rose Depp the New Face of Chanel
Lily-Rose Depp might as well have been brought up in Chanel finishing school – her mother, Vanessa Paradis, has been an ambassador for the brand since 1990, and she has already worn tweed skirt-suits to two Chanel shows. Now, the 16-year-old has become an official ambassador for the brand.
Karl Lagerfeld – head designer of the brand which began in 1909 – has a knack of finding cool, young stars who are bound to set tills ringing, and Depp is the most talked-about rising star in fashion right now, so this is a savvy, commercial move. It also makes sense to get someone young in to represent Chanel, since the new campaign is for the brand’s Pearl eyewear collection (think thousands of wealthy teens the world over begging their parents for the latest Chanel sunglasses!). Pearls are very Chanel indeed; sunglasses are at the vaguely affordable end of the fashion house’s spectrum...
What do you ladies think about Lily-Rose as the new face of Chanel? Is 16 just too young to enter the industry? Or are you just excited about seeing her Chanel campaign? Let us know in the comments!
